Life After Revolution: A Conversation

What was life like in France before and after the French Revolution? What was the role of women in the French society at the time? Who was Fanny Reybaud, a bestselling author of the 19th century, then as famous as George Sand, but mostly forgotten today? What is the role of a translator, and how can they help us better understand the work of foreign authors? After a presentation of the novel by our guest speaker, a Q&A session will give you the opportunity to learn more about these various topics.

This is a free event for members of Alliance Française of Westchester and the discussion will be mostly in English, although questions in French are welcome too.
